in the absence of some of the relatives.

15.01.03 SOCIAL WORKERS TRY TO SUMMON RELATIVES
Fife Council social workers, with out any form of consultation whatsoever
have attempted to summon the relatives of eight of the residents in Leslie
House to meetings that they have described as "Case Conferences".

CAMPAIGN GATHERS MOMENTUM
On 14th January the Leslie House 21 Group presented a Petition to the
Public Petitions Committee of the Scottish Parliament. The Petition drew
attention to the national crisis associated with funding the care of the
elderly, which is leading to the closure of more and more care homes throughout

OF ARROGANCE.
There
are now 18 empty rooms in Leslie House. The Board of Social Responsibility
could fill those rooms thus easing the bed-blocking situation in Fife.

WORKERS BEING GAGGED?
Mike
Sawyer, the Head of Social Work of Fife Council, after instructing areview
of the Care Plan of one of the residents, has told relatives that he and
two of the Council's social workers are recommending that the relative
be moved from Leslie House, The social workers concerned are now declining
to confirm their recommendations. More on

DECLINE OFFER.
At
its meeting on 23rd November 2002 the Lesie House 21 Group unanimously
declined an offer that had been made by MIke Sawyer to move the residents
in Leslie House into Alan McLure House. More

WORKER GETS IT WRONG?
On
9th September 2002, one of Fife Council's Social Workers, for the third
time in three days, rang one of the members of the Lesie House 21 Group
and said in error that all of the residents were moving from Leslie House.
